Law on Employment and Unemployment Insurance
Governs employment services, active employment policy and unemployment insurance. Registration with the National Employment Service does not itself establish entitlement to a cash benefit.

Employment / unemployment insurance
This Serbian law governs employment activities, the National Employment Service and agencies, active employment policy and unemployment insurance. It connects job search and employment support with separate insurance entitlements. These should be distinguished: a person may use a job-search service without qualifying for a cash benefit.
Job seekers can examine registration, placement, counselling and eligibility for a particular measure. Employers can understand hiring-related services and programme conditions. Public measures are not unconditionally available to every applicant or employer. Coverage, documents and support depend on legislation and the specific programme, so the relevant call should also be read. Participation should not be confused with a guaranteed job or payment.
Cash-benefit eligibility involves previous insurance, the reason employment ended and a separate application. Registration with the National Employment Service does not mean the benefit is approved. Keep termination documents, insurance information, your application and the decision. Identify the right sought and any obligations during registration or benefit receipt. Deadlines and remedies should be checked against the particular application and decision served.
Amounts may be adjusted, so older published figures do not permanently guarantee future payments. Insurance benefits are distinct from social assistance and other support for unemployed people, which have separate legal bases. A dispute over an earlier dismissal may also require the Labour Law; this legislation does not replace it.
The current series is Official Gazette 36/2009, 88/2010, 38/2015, 113/2017, 113/2017 through another law, and 49/2021. Official ministry and Employment Service sources and the specific Legal Information System law confirm it. An old PDF of the original 2009 law is not the complete current version. A proposed amendment still in parliamentary procedure is likewise not applicable legislation.
