When the Neighbourhood Takes the Wall Into Its Own Hands
Uroš and Mari launched an initiative in their neighbourhood to transform a neglected, graffiti-covered wall into a community mural. People from the neighbourhood, including children and young people, joined the action, turning a space previously covered in graffiti into a place of collective work.
The photographs follow the entire process: the wall before the intervention, the first layers of paint, the participants at work and the completed mural. The initiative began with people who know and use this space every day and decided to change it themselves.
The gallery documents a small local example of how shared spaces can be changed through the initiative of the people who live around them.
